Ezhil Nagar ROB: Ending Long Waits at Level Crossings
- Location & Need: Built at Korukkupet/Ezhil Nagar in North Chennai, where up to 50,000 vehicles daily are held up at a busy railway gate.
- Structure: A bow-string girder railway over-bridge executed on a 50:50 cost-share model — Railways handle the superstructure, while GCC builds the approaches.
- Cost: Estimated at ₹105 crore.
- Challenges: Originally set for completion by mid-2025, delays in launching the bow-string girder pushed deadlines further.
- Current Progress: GCC has finished black-topping, street lighting, and approaches. The remaining railway work is awaited before opening.
