To achieve this goal, the government plans to construct over nine lakh homes for low-income families in the next decade. In addition to easing building norms, the Tamil Nadu government is exploring Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to redevelop old Tamil Nadu Housing Board dwellings. S Krishnan, the industries secretary, also revealed that new norms for Manufactured Sand (M-Sand) and mining are in the pipeline. These regulations are expected to support construction activities, ensuring a steady supply of materials necessary for ongoing and future projects.

The government has outlined plans for several major infrastructure projects, including the development of a mega industrial estate at Pattinapakkam. Additionally, efforts are underway to redevelop the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex, along with the mofussil bus terminals at Kilambakkam and Kuthambakkam in Chennai.
