Tamil Nadu signed several investment agreements during Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s visit to London on 14 September 2026.
- The quantified MoUs total approximately ₹12,300 crore.
- A separate ₹3,000-crore letter of intent announced later takes the wider commitment to ₹15,300 crore.
Together, the projects are expected to create more than 10,000 jobs. However, several investments are still at the MoU stage, and many exact sites remain undisclosed.
Motherson: ₹11,000 Crore
Samvardhana Motherson International is a major global supplier of automotive components and engineering systems.
The company and its European and UK joint-venture partners propose to invest ₹11,000 crore over five years. The investment will cover design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and logistics facilities and may create around 7,000 jobs.
The facilities are proposed at strategic locations across Tamil Nadu, but the cities, land parcels and construction schedule will be announced later.
EY-Supported GCC: ₹1,000 Crore
Ernst & Young, or EY, specialises in audit, tax, business consulting, technology and Global Capability Centre services.
A UK-headquartered international company proposes to establish a ₹1,000-crore GCC along Chennai’s Mount–Poonamallee Road corridor, creating more than 2,000 jobs. EY will build and initially operate the centre before transferring it to the client.
The exact company, office campus, space requirement and opening date have not been disclosed.
Sigma Technology: Chennai and Trichy Expansion
Sigma Technology Group is a Swedish engineering and technology consultancy specialising in embedded systems, electrification, software development and industrial digitalisation.
Through its Indian entity, Sria Solutions, the company will expand its existing GCC operations in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli. The expansion is expected to create approximately 600 high-value jobs.
Its investment amount, individual campuses and office-space requirements have not been announced.
Wilson Power Solutions: ₹300 Crore in Tiruvallur
Wilson Power Solutions manufactures transformers used in power networks, renewable-energy projects, battery-storage systems, data centres and industrial facilities.
The company proposes to invest ₹300 crore in a manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur district, creating around 400 jobs. Wilson already operates a transformer-manufacturing business in the district, so this represents further expansion rather than its first entry into Tamil Nadu.
The exact village, land extent and project schedule will be announced later.
Another ₹3,000-Crore Proposal
An unidentified European automotive-component manufacturer has also submitted a ₹3,000-crore letter of intent for a project in Tamil Nadu. The company’s name, location, employment potential and implementation schedule have not been disclosed.
What Should Be Tracked Next?
These announcements indicate future demand for office campuses, industrial land, factories, warehouses and employee housing. But an MoU does not confirm that land has been purchased or office space has been leased.
The real property impact will become clear only after the companies disclose their exact locations, land requirements, approvals and commencement schedules. LandLens Pro can then support location analysis, while title, zoning and approval checks should be completed before any property decision.
